Le chien de Belleville

French Short Novel for Pre-Intermediate Learners (A2)

Every evening at seven, the dog is waiting.

In March, every evening at seven, a thin brown dog waits for Sam outside the Belleville métro and follows him home to the canal. His collar has no phone number, only a medal with an accordion and a name: Pistache. On a rainy night Sam takes him in, and with Léa and Mamie Paule he looks for the owner. Meanwhile, Sam's father calls from London: 'I'm coming to Paris. Not on the phone.' A short, adult novel for pre-intermediate learners of French (A2).

Read chapter 1: Sept heures

Lundi soir, à sept heures, Sam sort.
